New York City native Brian Jackson is literally a jazz and soul legend, one of the forefathers of socially-conscious rap. His longtime partnership with the highly regretted Gil Scott-Heron produced some of the most fiercely poignant, politically charged, and significantly soulful albums of the 70s. On the flute & electric piano, Brian Jackson’s compositions were at the heart of nearly ten Scott-Heron albums, including the critically acclaimed Winter in America or Piece Of A Man. After a decade working together recorded with giants such as Earth Wind & Fire, Stevie Wonder and Roy Ayers: inflecting his jazz, soul and proto-hip-hop stylings into the groundbreaking arrangements that inform vast swathes of popular music today. His trademark Fender Rhodes sound provides the groove foundations for songs of Rappers such as 2Pac or Common to name but a few.Amir Abdullah is part of Hip Hop history as a sample excavator, music historian, compilation curator and DJ. He has been touring the world extensively as one half of the trailblazing DJ duo Kon and Amir. Today he also runs his own label 180 Proof Records and continue to release the catalogue of legendary Detroit jazz label Strata.Rhinoçéros is a small berlin jazz spot, strongly dedicated to the highest quality of sound, wines and drinks.Audio menu: Bowers & Wilkins DM70 speakers, Quad 33 Preamp, Quad 303 Amp, Micro-Seiki DQX-500 turntable, AT VM740ML Cartridge
