In 2017, Josh set off to Uganda and decided to film a documentary series on Ugandan cultures, alongside her friend Kwesiga Wahab. The documentary series will look at how certain cultural aspects were practiced before and how they are practised now. The three episodes to be shown at the screening will look at the aspects of:1. community living, music and dance, Wang oo and Mato Oput (reconciliation and reintegration) among the Acholi of Northern Uganda; 2. marriage, dowry, gender roles, and social networks among the Karamojong. 3. Initiation into womanhood, food, herbal medicine and dressing among the Baganda.Each film is 30 minutes long, and so will be screened from 7pm to 8:30pm. Afterwhich, the floor will be open for questions and comments.
